An excellent way to carry art with you. This pocket mirror features "Perseus and Caput Medusae" from Urania's Mirror revamped from whimsical antique astronomy etchings circa 1824.

  • Pocket mirrors come packaged complete with a velvet bag for safe keeping.

  • Design on one side with real glass mirror on the other side.
In 1824 a boxed set of 32 constellation cards were published in London. The cards were clearly inspired by the Celestial Atlas by Alexander Jamieson published a couple of years earlier. There was a black and white set of cards as well as a colored set. In some editions of the cards small holes were punched into the cards so as to appear to be small stars in the sky when held up to a light. Many of the constellations are not recognized by astronomers today.
