Some artists stand out to us for a variety of reasons. Jean Ignace Isidore Gerard Granville (J.J. Grandville) stands out to us because his art was so revolutionary and indeed ahead of it's time. He was most noted for his political caricatures and book illustrations. His final book, actually published posthumously was entitled Les Fleurs Animees in 1847, the year he died. It is indeed loaded with wit, satire and beautiful images.
