The Borgia name meant extreme power in all areas of religious and political affairs of the 15th and 16th centuries. The family was constantly embroiled in stories of bribery, murder, and incest. The family produced 2 Popes and were noted for being great patrons of Renaissance art. Lucrezia Borgia was the daughter of Pope Alexander VI. She was married off multiple times by her power hungry family to help consolidate power anywhere it could be consolidated. She had 10 children and several miscarriages during her intriguing and tumultuous life.
