Mizuko In Her Octopus Garden

 A scene only possible one night of the year.

It was April and the moon was full.  The cherry blossoms were peaking.  Mizuko drifted silently to the waters edge to greet and well-wish her lovely school of Octopus.  Each Spring in April the cherry blossoms would swell and burst with color and fragrances that would enliven even the inanimate.  The water would ripple musically, the rocks would pulse with energy.  As is always the case each month has a full moon as well.   It is only when these two special occassions match up perfectly, when the moon is at it's highest and the skies are crystal clear and the blossoms are at their most fragrant and brilliant that Mizuko would come to her Octopus Garden.  Cephalopod Bay she calls it.   It was a rare scene and this year  it could not have been more beautiful.  The moon lifted through the clouds higher and higher, fuller and fuller, enveloping Cephalopod Bay in a light and reflection that drew Mizuko's Octopuses to the waters surface .

As Mizuko reached the bottom of the stairs and gathered one of her beloved Octopus in her arms a warm wind began to pull the blossoms from the trees and send them spiraling, magically in the full moons glow to the waters surface.   It was in this glow of red and pink cherry blossoms that the Cephalopod would congregate and meet with their friend.  These occasions were so rare and so special that they changed them all deeply with each visit they shared.   These reminders of each other and the friendship each of them had shared for all these many years would once again transform each of their lives in mysterious and powerful ways.  It was these moments of magical transformation that brought them back time and time again.
