Cinderella
This beautiful and collectible hand pressed 2.25 inch pocket mirror features a piece from my Fairy Tales and Folklore series and is titled "Cinderella". Using a part from John William Waterhouse's painting Boreas as my starting point. To create this illustration I used a mixture of traditional and digital painting and collage.

For many years we've collected antique engravings, etchings, and illustrations. Our tastes are eclectic. Architecture, the animal kingdom, botanicals, musical instruments, historical figures, fairy tales and fables have all been fair game.
Ah, Cinderella, one of the oldest fables and indeed one of the most ancient archetypes found in fable. A story told in multitudes of incarnations, found in every culture in the world. I created this calm and introspective Cinderella invoking a slightly gothic theme on a cold and wintery evening.
