For many years we've collected antique engravings, botanical's, etchings, and illustrations. Our tastes are eclectic. Architecture, the animal kingdom, musical instruments, historical figures, fairy tales and fables have all been fair game. Sailing and being out on the water deep in the elements is a one of a kind feeling. This sailor and ship illustration captures that exhilarating and life affirming feeling very well.

p.s.   You may notice his cap says "H.M.S. FROLIC"  H.M.S. stands for Her Majesty's Ship.  The H.M.S. Frolic was a ship of the Royal Navy launched in 1806.  It engaged in a back and forth capture battle with the American ship USS Wasp in 1812.  Ultimately the Frolic prevailed.  The ship was broken down in 1813.
