For many years we've collected antique engravings, etchings, and illustrations. Our tastes are eclectic. Architecture, the animal kingdom, botanicals, musical instruments, historical figures, fairy tales and fables have all been fair game.
This vintage image of Little Miss Muffet and the spider is both amusing and frankly a bit frightening! Miss Muffet is a quirky nursery rhyme with a vague origin. It's first appearance seems to be at the beginning of the 1800's and may refer to the daughter of an English physician, Dr. Thomas Muffet, Patience, or to Mary, Queen of Scots. No one knows for sure.
