Porcia (Portia) Catonis was a woman born approx. 70 BC. She was the daughter of Cato the Younger and Atilia. She is probably most well known for being the wife for Marcus Junius Brutus, assasin of Julius Caesar. As would be expected there is very little REALLY known about her short life but there is much mythology. The most notorious myths surround what she did or did not know regarding the assassination of Julius Caesar as well as the surroundings of her own death, which may or may not have involved swallowing burning coals. Yikes.
